Policy Statement
Purpose
BRCC students will elect a student body president to represent the college. The elected president
will represent BRCC on the Council of Student Body Presidents (COSBP). The SGA President
will maintain good academic and social standing with the college and community (as required by
the BRCC SGA Constitution and By-Laws) in order to serve on the COSBP.
Scope
This policy applies to the elected student body president.
Background
The Council of Student Body Presidents of Louisiana was formed to promote communication
among the students and member schools of all higher education systems in Louisiana, and to
further education and social interests and to support the advancement of higher education.
Policy
The policy of BRCC is to ensure that BRCC has the required representation on the COSBP. The
SGA President elected by the student body; therefore, serves on the COSBP is expected to attend
all COSBP meetings and share relevant information with each campus/site through email
correspondence and/or at the SGA general student body meeting, as deemed necessary. During
the appointment, the campus/site will be responsible for all travel expenses related to attending
COSBP meetings.
