www.mybrcc.edu TITLE: Display of Political Literature or Solicitations EFFECTIVE DATE: May 12, 2011 LAST REVISION: October 16, 2014 Policy No. 5.595 Policy Statement Purpose This policy establishes guidelines for the display of political literature, campaign placards, advertising signs, non-academic posters and flyers on campus. Scope This policy applies to students, faculty, staff, and off-campus community at large. Policy The policy of BRCC is to ensure that BRCC reserves the right to accept or reject any advertising copy, which it deems, it its sole discretion, create a lawless disorder on the College’s premises or a material disruption to College activities; constitutes an invasion of privacy interests; or is libelous, false, or obscene. Procedure Literature submitted may not be displayed on educational buildings, trees, sidewalks, handrails or grounds, but must be limited to those areas deemed necessary for posting approved material. Such documents will be regulated and supervised by the SPAR Office. Any such violation of the policy BRCC reserves the right to remove, discard, and/or destroy literature.
