Presentation proposals are due on April 5, 2013. The Value of Student Non-Cognitive Measures is a hot topic that is gaining credibility and getting the attention of schools nationwide. Tenacity, Grit, and Perseverance are the "new black" when it comes to students completing college courses, degree programs, and overall achieving high levels of success in their endeavors. Recently the U.S. Department of Education published a study referring to grit, tenacity, and perseverance as "critical factors for success in the 21st century". The executive summary of the brief states "the test score accountability movement and conventional educational approaches tend to focus on intellectual aspects of success, such as content knowledge.
