Catalog Description:
47 -- College Theater Acting
May be repeated three times.
3 units
Participation in main season production or project. Enrollment is for duration of the production.
Enrollment by audition only. 9 hours laboratory.

Expected Outcomes for Students:
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:

Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
1. Typical Assignments
a. Research a character’s history and socio-economic background
b. Spend time in a particular location to increase actor’s sensitivity to the acting environment
c. Memorize lines
d. Memorize blocking
e. Invent blocking and/or “stage business”
f. Rehearse with concentration, dedication, expansiveness
2. Methods of Evaluating student progress:
a. Grading of written/oral research
b. Observation and feedback of creative progress
c. Final exam
