Chabot College February 1996 Removed Fall 2010 Course Outline for Theater Arts 43 STAGE SCENERY AND PROPERTIES Catalog Description: 43 - Stage Scenery and Properties 2 units Introduction to design of theatrical sets, including properties; techniques of construction, organization, and implementation of design for production. Prerequisite: Theater Arts 40 completed with a grade of "C" or better. 1 hour lecture, 2 hours laboratory. [Typical contact hours: lecture 17.5, laboratory 35] Expected Outcomes for Students: Upon completion of the course, the student should: 1. develop an awareness of the subtleties of style in scenic design and appreciation of scenic design as a historic and plastic visual art form; 2. develop a more responsible level of artistic integrity and creativity in rendering and executing of the design concept.
