Chabot College September 1994 Removed Fall 2006 Course Outline for Japanese 50C CONVERSATIONAL JAPANESE Catalog Description: 50C - Conversational Japanese 2 units Development of skills learned in Japanese 50B. Understanding and speaking Japanese through pronunciation, vocabulary, applied grammar, and the everyday life of Japanese-speaking people. Prerequisite: Japanese 50B completed with a grade of "C" or better. 3 hours. Expected Outcomes for Students: Upon completion of the course, the student should: 1. have become proficient in using the conversational structures and vocabulary presented; 2. have further developed an understanding and appreciation of the culture of Japanese-speaking people. Course Content: 1. Review and "recycling" of content of Japanese 50A and 50B 2. Functional vocabulary and grammar to allow students to express feelings, judgements, and opinions, and to persuade or dissuade, as well as to make suggestions and discuss alternatives 3.
