Chabot College September 1994 Removed Fall 2006 Course Outline for French 50D CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH Catalog Description: 50D - Conversational French 2 units Development of skills learned in French 50C. Proficiency in understanding and speaking French through pronunciation, vocabulary, applied grammar, and the everyday life of French-speaking people. Prerequisite: French 50C completed with a grade of "C" or better. 3 hours. Expected Outcomes for Students: Upon completion of the course, the student should: 1. have become proficient in using the conversational structures and vocabulary presented; 2. have further developed an understanding and appreciation of the culture of French-speaking people. Course Content: 1. Review and "recycling" of content of French 50A, 50B, and 50C 2. Functional vocabulary and grammar to allow students to express possibilities, conditionality, and hypotheses, as well as to express dissatisfaction in culturally sensitive ways, to request favors or help, and to obtain information 3.
