September 9, 2010 12 Noon, Room 1506 In Attendance: See sign-in sheet Meeting Minutes: were distributed Special Reports: none Project Status Update: Doug, with reference to meeting handouts, provided updates and a projection of construction activity over the next academic year. Current projects include stages of work on one new building (P.E. Strength and Fitness Center) and three renovation projects (Soccer Field, B300 and B1400/1600). Wanda asked about the status of B100 planning and Doug indicated that September/October would have additional user/design input meetings. Gary asked about the “pie” area with respect to who had the decision power concerning the use for that area. Doug replied that the B100 Media Center “wedge” is part of the design project scope and that final space allocations (what programs go where) would be determined during Schematic Design. Doug informed the committee that proposals for development of updated Educational Master Plans were reviewed and forwarded for an award of contract at the September 21st Board meeting. The process will include broad input from the college community and after the Educational Master Plan is solidified it will drive an update of the Campus Facility Master Plan. There was a small discussion about the use of consultants and it was apparent that the specialty expertise needed for detailed plans would logically be provided through established consulting firms.
