Centennial Honors College Western Illinois University Undergraduate Research Day 2012 Poster Presentation Walking Up the Ladder of Productivity Meghan Pantages Faculty Mentor: Mary Jensen Special Education The purpose of my project was for me and the rest of the class to learn how to create a behavior plan for our future students. I learned how hard it is to get the plan into action and then follow thru with it. For my behavior intervention, instead of feeling tired all of the time, I chose to start working out at the REC center. The first move to start my behavior plan was to fit it into my schedule, once I had it all planed out I would go during my break in the morning a walk a mile, then do the elliptical, and walk another mile to cool down. I set a goal to go to the REC center four days a week. After completing the task each time I would put a star on my chart. If I exceeded my goal I would then put a sticker at the end of the chart. As a result of my behavior plan, I hoped that I would have more energy, and as a result of having more energy I would then get more things done during the day. I found that when I did go I would get the energy I was hoping to get and did accomplish getting a lot of things done and would be really productive on those days. My graphs will show how often I accomplished going to the REC center.
