Measure B Construction Activity: Doug provided information handout B. Discussion of Master Plan projects and costs: Doug provided multiple page handouts with estimator’s calculations for projects identified in the revised Facility Master Plan (FMP) and facilitated discussions on estimator’s figures as well as details concerning “infrastructure”, “colonnade”, and other listed projects. The general discussion and observations included that any singular major project exceeded remaining Measure B funding. There was a discussion concerning “How should we proceed?” with points including: Saving some Measure B funding for potential state match, allocating funds to Instructional Materials and Deferred Maintenance, focus on smaller renovations that can assist in meeting college strategic goal such as cafeteria student area enhancements, improved instructional spaces, Data Infrastructure, Biology, better traffic flow and student dropoff, veterans space, …..and more. Sustainability Issues: Gordon pointed out need to “sustain” our new buildings that have walls that flyers are marring. 5. Rumor Control – The status of the IOB elevator was discussed. Elevator is out-of-order and needs substantial repair. The repair will involve closing down the IOB lobby space and will be done over the holiday break. Meeting ended, out of time 6.
