When SSSP mandated assessment services for all students, the number of assessments increased by 28% within the last two years. Given the current assessment center staffing, 1 full time (40 hours) 2 part time (20 hours) staff, 20 additional hours are the minimum increase in hours to meet demand of assessment center services, including extended assessment schedule (evening/weekend service hours). What educational programs or institutional purposes does this position support? How does the request relate specifically to your Program Review, the College’s Strategic Plan, and/or Accreditation Recommendations? SSSP mandates all students to receive assessment services Chabot College has been working to increase enrollment and provide course offerings and services to meet the increase in demand. Assessment services is central to student services and course placement. The Assessment Center also works to schedule PSCN 25 appointments which leads to a greater of number of incoming students getting student education plans. PSCN 25 serve as the primary avenue for SEPAs and play an important role in SSSP reporting. Another role of Assessment Center staff is the supporting and facilitating of the Early Decision Program. The Early Decision program is a signature of Chabot College and continues to grow with the college. Early Decision serves 25 local high schools and adult schools including Hayward Promise Neighborhood schools. Where will the individual work? To whom will the person report? The consequence will be an inability to fully adhere to SSSP mandates Lower number of students will be able to participate in priority registration In addition, this will negatively impact retention rates due to not completing fundamental general education courses and core services such as PSCN 25 The ultimate outcome will result in a widening of the equity gap and student inability to meet educational goals What alternative approaches have been considered in meeting the programmatic demands of this request?
