1. Looking at the IP configuration on the user’s machine, the IP address and the
default gateway are on two different networks. The default gateway (router
interface) for the subnet must have an IP address belonging to the subnet.
2. The results from the IPCONFIG show that the machine has self-assigned an
APIPA address. This indicates that the client machine has not been able to reach
its DHCP server. The technician should begin by looking at the router interface
for this segment.
