In October, the NIU SMP attended the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) Consortium at Indiana State University to refine our knowledge and connect with financial leaders across the United States. Bob Finder of Wells Fargo lectured about the importance of listening to your clients in order to be successful at meeting their needs and retaining clients. Following Finder, robust technical analysts, financial advisors and Bloomberg representatives spoke about issues faced in the real world and how to combat them. The information we gained from the SMIF consortium was vital in preparing us for the workplace after graduation.
