Minutes for Meeting of October 13, 2014
A meeting of ASCAP was held on Monday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. in Holden Hall 129. Committee
members present were: Gretchen Adams, Scott Baugh, Kelly Cukrowicz, Gary Elbow, Brett Houk,
Matt Olson, Jacob Mota, and David Roach. Presenters: Dr. Sean Cunningham (History), and Dr.
Lumpkin (Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences).
1. No representative from the Department of Geosciences was able to attend the ASCAP meeting,
so the proposals from this department were tabled.
2. No representative from the Department of English was able to attend the ASCAP meeting, so the
proposal from this department was tabled.
3. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposals from the Department of History:
 Add HIST 3312 Politics from JFK to Reagan.
 Change title and description for HIST 4312 American Political Culture.
4. Pending minor revisions, the committee voted to recommend to the next level of consideration
the following proposals from the Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences:
 Change title and description for ESS 1301 Introduction to Exercise and Sport Science.
 Add ESS 3346 Anatomical Kinesiology.
 Add ESS 3347 Nutrition for Exercise and Physical Activity.
 Add ESS 3401 Introduction to Motor Behavior.
 Add ESS 4000 Independent Studies in ESS.
 Change title and description for ESS 4372 Management in Exercise and Health Promotion.
 Change title, description, number and contact hours for ESS 4475 Internship in Exercise and
Health Promotion.
 Add ESS 6301 Independent Study.
 Delete HLTH 2275 Practicum in Community Health.
 Delete HLTH 4475 Internship in Community Health.
The next scheduled meeting of ASCAP is set for 3:00 Monday, October 27, 2014. Proposals for this
meeting need to reach the Dean’s office by Monday, October 20.
