ANNE’S IN K INGSTON, JAMAICA, THANKING THE PARISH FOR THEIR GENEROSITY IN THE THANKSGIVING DAY COLLECTION. Dear Ed and Mary, A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with God’s unexpected blessings. A couple of weeks ago, I received a cheque from the parish, and I breathed a sigh of relief, as our children’s “treat” was rapidly approaching. The treat on the 26th went well. There were less children than last year, but I suspect it had something to do with some of the instability in certain parts of the neighborhood. But a wonderful treat for the children in any case. I will be sure to send you some pictures in the next couple of weeks. I hope that you continue to enjoy the Christmas season, and I thank you and St. Ignatius parish for very generously sharing your joy with the children of West Kingston. You remain in our hearts and prayers here at St. Anne’s. Father Peter FROM FR. BOB: I have been invited with a number of dancers from BLDE to visit St. Anne’s in the first week of February. This will be my first visit to our sister parish in Jamaica. I am looking forward to the trip and will tell you all about it on my return. REMINDER: WE URGE OUR PARISHIONERS TO BE MINDFUL OF YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS WHEN YOU COME TO THE CHURCH FOR MASS OR OTHER EVENTS. General Reminders THANK YOU, THANK YOU! To all of our singers musicians and dancers , all our Liturgical Ministers, all those who created such a beautiful environment, and everyone who contributed so generously this Christmas Season in enhancing our Liturgical services and in the success of our Outreach Christmas Gift Drive. SHABBAT MEAL – JANUARY 20TH with Marsha Mirkin in the rectory dining room at 6:30 pm. “L’Cha Dodi, L’Krat Kallah” – Come my beloved, let us greet the bride! Come join us to welcome the Sabbath (Shabbat) bride, who sanctified us with her presence every Friday night at sunset, and stays with us until Sunset on Saturday. We joyfully welcome the Jewish Shabbath with song, dance, rituals and delicious food. As Shabbat descends, we cease co-creating with God, we cease aspiring, and we enter a sacred time of appreciating and glorifying all we have. It is a time of gratitude to God who makes all this possible; a time of gratitude for the blessings of family, friends and life. So, let us gather and together celebrate this sacred moment, this gift that is given to us every week. If you can let us know you are coming, it would be helpful for planning purposes.
