shrum science complex biology lecture theatres b9200 & b9201 RENOVATIONS SUMMER 2013 renovation summary Renovated the interior space of two Biology Lecture Theatres in the Shrum Science Complex: B9000 (328 occupancy) and B9201 (331 occupancy) Includes the installation of state-of-the-art Audio Visual Technology to enhance the student learning experience, and to facilitate the intructor’s delivery of teaching materials. Upgraded network services for improved data coverage. renovation highlights Includes: Installation of 328 theatre seats in B9200 Theatre. Installation of wheelchair access platform in the central riser. Interior lighting upgrade to include energy efficient LED lamps. Installation of electrical receptacles in theatre seats (for laptop use). Front stage flooring replacement. Installation of height-adjustable podiums, and demonstration tables with sinks. Architectural Millwork. Restoration of original accoustic wood panels. Paint - walls, ceiling, floor. a/v technology upgrade Includes: Large 30ft Projection Screen allows for multiple projection of media types. Dual Document Camera doubles the display content on projection screen. New Touch Screen allows for digital white boarding. Full Digital Lecture Recording: captures live streams and recordings; search ability for content. Dual Confidence Monitors: allows instructors to identify screen content behind them; also doubles as teleprompters. Creative Services Panel: allows for webcasts and live recordings. Portable High Definition Camera: captures demonstration of experiments to display on large projection screen. Crestron Control Systems: controls electronic technology in the theatre. B9201 Theatre B9200 Theatre classrooms upgrade Supplied and installed 200 classrooms tables and 25 instructor’s tables in the West Mall Complex (WMC) classrooms. Installed new rubber flooring in 6 lecture theatres. Installed furniture labelling system in WMC. Student Lounge Furniture Upgrade (South Science Building and TASC I & II)
