STRENGTH IN WHAT REMAINS: A PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION Deo Niyizonkiza, who founded a small non-profit called Village Health Works (http://villagehealthworks.org) which does work in Burundi, will be giving a talk at St. Ignatius about his work and experiences. Village Health Works is working with community members in the rural village of Kigutu (located approximately 70 miles south of the capital city of Bujumbura) to develop a model community health center. This health center provides critically needed primary care to the 40,000 people of Kigutu and the surrounding area. Deo’s work and life are featured in a recent book by Tracy Kidder (Strength in What Remains, weblink: http://www.tracykidder.com/books/strength), very limited copies of which are available without charge in the rectory offices.
