JOB SEEKERS– Workshop on Effective Networking in a Difficult Economy
On Wednesday, December 15th, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the Friary Room, the St. Ignatius Transitions
Group will host a workshop on “Effective Networking.” We are fortunate to have as our guest speaker,
Diane Darling, founder and CEO of Effective Networking, Inc., and author of “The Networking Survival
Guide.” Ms. Darling has appeared on NBC Nightly News, in the Wall Street Journal, and Boston Globe,
and she recently taught in the MBA program at Boston University. Her company works with people to
ensure they establish optimal affiliations to maximize their potential achievement and reach their
personal and professional goals. The workshop promises to be very worthwhile not only for those who
are currently unemployed but also for anyone who is underemployed or looking to return to the work
force. Space will be somewhat limited, if you wish to attend, please contact Eileen Connor by phone at
617-739-0539 or e-mail at econnor@bu.edu.
WORKSHOP WITH MARSHA MIRKIN, PHD
DATE PLACE CORRECTION: On Saturday, December 18th from 10:00 am – Noon, Marsha Mirkin will
return to the parish to explore with us the story of Sarah, Hagar and Abraham. This is a story about the
dangers of not paying attention, the transformational power of listening and the role of God in teaching
us about connection and empathy. Sarah, Hagar and Abraham’s stories are as familiar to us as any
contemporary family story, and yet they hold wisdom that has been meaningful throughout the
centuries. Please join us in the Friary Room for this lively discussion.

massage will be offered. For more information or to register, please contact Amy Chapman at
