DAVIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES SOCIAL WORKER II WORK FIRST EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SOCIAL WORKER Description of Work: Work in this position involves providing professional social work services to participants and/or family to achieve and promote economic independence. Social work services includes providing career counseling to TANF recipients required to participate in program-related work activities designed to lead them to self-sufficiency. Candidate will need considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to individual case work and community problems to manage a caseload. Assists participants in developing an individual responsibility plan focused on obtaining and maintaining employment. Ensure that participants are complying with their program plan, documents counseling, followups, case actions and results in NCFAST state system and agency’s paperless document system. Work with providers of services and training, and employers on behalf of the participants. Conduct face-to-face interviews with participants; explain program policies and requirements to obtain all pertinent data concerning the participants family composition, financial status, and work capacity. Establish applicant eligibility based on program eligibility criteria and entering the eligibility data into one or more State computer information system. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work related experience; or bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited institution and two years of social work experience or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three years of social work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
