DAVIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES SOCIAL WORKER III CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES ON-CALL SOCIAL WORKER Description of Work: The primary purpose of this position is to receive and assess child and adult protective service reports during non-office hours (nights, weekends, and some holidays). This social worker will be responsible for conducting in-depth investigations and assessments of alleged abuse, neglect, and/or dependency of minor children and vulnerable adults. This position will often require immediate response to crisis situations or immediate action under short time frames and under stressful conditions. Other duties include participation in Child & Family Team Meetings, presentation of cases to the court, and frequent work with law enforcement and medical professionals after hours in immediate response situations. This position will have required office hours and may be responsible for providing intake services while in the office. Flexible working hours are required. Minimum Training and Experience: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative; or graduation from a four- year college or university with three years work experience in social work or related human services field.
