RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER II (293-02-240) WORKING TITLE INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER FOOD & NUTRITION GRADE/SALARY External Applicants: 63/$27,771 Internal Applicants: County policy for promotions/transfers will be applied to internal, permanent status employees and budgeted amount EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DUTIES One year experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the program/areas of assignment. General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures. Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain work of lower level employees. Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames. Ensure recipient(s) remain eligible for Food & Nutrition Services. When making decisions on eligibility for assistance of the client’s, the case worker will use the state policy manual. The manual addresses each area of eligibility. If there are questions, the supervisor makes the final decision. IMCWII will take applications, verify information, determine eligibility and process applications according to the policy manual guidelines for Food & Nutrition Services. Processing of applications will be done using the NCFAST system. Gather necessary information, verify, and process all changes or updates for cases within FNS caseload using the NC FAST system. Includes referrals whenever necessary to the Program Integrity Fraud Investigator. May also need to represent the agency in court for cases within the caseload that have been brought to court by Program Integrity for fraud. Serves as the primary IMCWII position taking applications for LIEAP and CIP. Requires gathering information, IMCW II 293-02-240 -2- October 8, 2015 determining eligibility and processing applications. While both LIEAP and CIP do not consist of ongoing cases, the volume of applications can be heavy during certain times of the year. May also be required to complete applications for other eligibility programs as NC FAST evolves toward the Universal Worker concept. Other duties may apply.
