ONSLOW COUNTY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER M/F/D/V Position Responsibilities This position supervises the ten member Operations Support Unit which serves the entire agency and the general public. The unit consists of receptionists, agency switchboard, computer support technicians, file room processing assistants, and agency mail clerks. This position is part of management team and participates in monthly meetings, accepting responsibility in assisting other team members in agency planning and decision making. This position must ensure that all work is performed timely. This position must be able to formulate procedures for proficiency within the unit during hectic periods. It is the responsibility of this position to receive and dispose of all undelivered WFFA Checks, SAA Checks, SAD Checks, Medicaid cards, energy checks, EBT cards, training new staff on new phone system, and reporting all equipment problems. This position oversees Northwoods (an electronic document imaging system). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of • office techniques; • effective supervisory practices. Ability to • practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing; • plan and supervise the work of others; • analyze, interpret, recommend, and implement policy and procedural guidelines. Skill in • organizing work flow and coordinating activities. Requirements Graduation of high school and three years of related experience; or graduation from a two-year secretarial science or business administration program with courses in secretarial techniques and practices and two years of related work experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on business administration or a related field and two years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. DSS experience preferred. Special Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license and be in compliance with the Onslow County’s insurance regulations.
