QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree or higher with Florida certification in Administration and Supervision,
Educational Leadership, or School Principal.
Successful experience in an instructional leadership position directing school renewal
activities. Principal experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of learning theory, program planning, curriculum development,
and management of instructional programs.
Three (3) years successful experience as a teacher, and five (5) years successful
experience in an educational management position/principalship.
Ability to perform the functions of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist the Assistant Superintendent in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of
federal programs in St. Lucie County to ensure consistency with applicable laws, rules, and
regulations
2. To assist Title I schools with a review of program effectiveness in improving student
performance and desired outcomes as described in the School Improvement Plan
(SIP).
3. To assist with the planning and implementation of SIP activities in Title I schools.
4. To assist in the monitoring of the Title I program at each school site to ensure
compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
5. To assist in interpreting the federal programs to the parents, school, personnel, and
the community at large.
6. To collaborate with the Professional Development Department in the development
and implementation of professional development programs which will assure that
school-based and county personnel are highly qualified and understand their roles
and responsibilities related to the requirements of federal programs staff.
7. To represent the school system at appropriate conferences and staff development
activities as they relate to the job.

8. To perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
9. To assist with the compilation and maintenance of records and reports for all federal
projects.
10. To promote awareness among all personnel of the special educational needs of Title
I children.
11. To assist in guiding Title I schools in analyzing and interpreting performance data to
make decisions.
12. To coordinate the activities of differentiated accountability and serve as the district
contact with the Florida Department of Education.
13. To study legislation, projects, and programs for opportunities that may be offered for
educational grants, entitlements, and allocations offered relevant to the needs of the
district. Remain up-to-date on changing laws and regulations.
14. To participate in the selection and supervision of school personnel
15. To keep the Assistant Superintendent informed of events and activities of an
unusual nature.
16. To assume responsibility for professional growth and development through
membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations, through
attendance at appropriate meetings and conferences, and through enrollment in
advanced courses.
17. To conduct personnel appraisals of Title I administrators in conjunction with the
Assistant Superintendent.
18. To perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Assistant
Superintendent may assign.
Physical Demand Class: Light (L) - Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 10 pounds
or less. Infrequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 11-35 pounds. Frequent walking
and/or standing is required to carry out duties.
