Bachelor’s Degree in business related area A minimum of three (3) years successful experience in a risk management related area. Experience in employee benefit area Ability to perform the functions of the position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To manage the district's insurance and employee benefits programs, policies, premiums, payments and claims. 2. To assume responsibility for insurance records and insurance accounting and develop request for proposal from insurance agencies. 3. To recommend the improvement on maintenance of safety for all district buildings and grounds. 4. To inspect all school buildings, grounds and installations on a regular basis to determine that high standards of safety are maintained. 5. To evaluate the district's risk management program and personnel job descriptions on a continuing basis and recommend programs to the Superintendent through the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services. 6. To organize and implement through the Staff Development Department and orientation program on safety and accident prevention for personnel and work cooperatively with Director of Human Resource Development for providing a continuing program of staff training, personnel development and wellness program. 7. To work closely with principals and department heads in the coordination of safety programs. 8. To serve as a resource person to principals, program directors in planning and evaluating all aspects of school safety, procedures for safe use of tools, equipment, supplies, as well as classroom instruction on safety. 9. To serve as a consultant to architects in planning and designing new facilities to ensure standards of safety. 10. To act as a liaison with public safety authorities on all matters affecting school safety. Page 2 Coordinator of Risk Management 11. To conduct investigations of accidents and make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for appropriate corrective action. 12. To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. 13. To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality. 14. To perform such other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services.
