MTO Colloquium Tuesday, October 21 at 12:45 hrs in WZ 103 Prof. dr. Eric-Jan Wagenmakers (University of Amsterdam) ‘JASP: A Fresh Way to do Statistics’ In this presentation I will describe the ongoing software project JASP (http://jasp-stats.org/). The goal of JASP is twofold: first, to provide a free, open-source, user-friendly implementation of standard inference tools such as ANOVA and regression; second, to provide Bayesian inference methods as an additional option alongside the classical frequentist methods. I will describe the rationale behind JASP, its current status, and the future developments. Our end-goal is to replace SPSS as the preferred statistical software program for students and researchers.
