Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Student Justice. Justices have an opportunity to serve the
college community; develop life-long skills in facilitating and resolving conflicts; enhance critical
thinking and communication skills; and promote civility and citizenship within the Marist College
Community.

Justices will experience an intensive training program to develop skills necessary to be a successful team

Recommend reasonable, fair and educational sanctions when appropriate
Represent the interests and needs of the student body to the Office of Judicial Affairs
W Requirements X
Applicants must be matriculated full-time undergraduate students at Marist College. Both on-campus and
off-campus students may apply. A grade point average of at least 2.5 is strongly preferred. Marist College
is comprised of a diverse student body; therefore, students of all backgrounds and interests are encouraged
to apply. Disciplinary or academic violations committed at Marist College or elsewhere must be
disclosed. Prior infractions will not automatically disqualify applicants but are taken into consideration
by the selection committee.

1. Please fill out the attached application form and answer all questions to the best of your ability.
Responses should be typed and submitted along with the application form.
2. Return the completed application form and short answer responses, to the Office of Judicial Affairs,
Rotunda 389. Questions may be directed to the Office of Judicial Affairs at .x 3514 or
judicial@marist.edu.
3. Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed to ensure that you meet eligibility
requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you will be contacted by the Office of Judicial
Affairs. If you are eligible to serve as a justice you will need to schedule an interview.
4. Upon completion of the interview process, the Director of Judicial Affairs will notify candidates who
have been selected for the student justice position for 2008 – 2009. Final announcements will be
made by April 30, 2008.
