Bio-Economy Forum for Candidates at ISU
November 5, 2007--One republican and four democrats seeking the White
House, are taking part in a presidential forum at Iowa State University's "BioBased Industry Outlook" conference today.
Republican John McCain and democrats Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Dennis
Kucinich and John Edwards will all talk about the bio-economy. Iowa State is
working on new ways to wean the country off foreign oil. They're creating a "BioEconomy Institute" for the research.
The president of ISU says using agricultural resources, instead of imported oil,
will improve national security, transform rural economies, and counter global
climate change.
