Friends of Simon Tutors:









Work with newcomer elementary and secondary students
Take initiative and are self-starters
Provide academic and social support to students
Create and lead literacy and/or numeracy related activities for large and small
groups
Increase students’ comfort level in expressing themselves in English
Manage difficult behaviours and intervene when necessary
Initiate interactions with isolated or reluctant students
Model positive peer interactions and relationships
Have an interest in working with younger students and making a difference in the
community
