In order to have the best possible start into the future, Inner Mongolia Guohua Zhunge’er Power Generation Co., Ltd was looking for an integrated IT solution to support plant management, process information, production cost forecasts and electricity trading. On the one hand, the customer attached importance to having European power plant technology and process organization, on the other he wanted a local Chinese partner. At the beginning of 2001, Guohua placed the order with Siemens PG via SPPA, the Chinese Siemens subsidiary. Our Solution Via SPPA, we supplied the customer with an integrated solution consisting of the following components: the BFS++ Plant Management System with modules supporting Maintenance, Shift Operation, Spare Parts Management and Documentation Management, the Process Information Management, the OPTIpro Process Optimization as well as Cockpit. The latter integrates all the underlying systems and provides tools for production cost forecast and power trading. In order to retrieve process data, for example for maintenance and process optimization purposes, a connection to the I&C (SPPA T-2000) was established as well. To facilitate the users’ job, the solution came with Chinese user interfaces and help files. At the end of 2002, the complete system was handed over to the customer. Apart from hardware and software training and customizing were part of the contract. The customer is completely satisfied. After all his system at present is the most modern of its kind in China. Energy Management Suite References Answers for energy. Zunghe‘er power plant relies on integration The Benefit The benefits of an integrated system exceed those of the individual systems. Consistent workflows and fast access to decision-ready information increase productivity and thus competitiveness. With Cockpit, an excellent and expandable basis has been created at Zhunge’er to ensure success and competitiveness for the deregulated energy market. The Result Up-to-date information available online Increased reliability and safety Higher work efficiency Plant operation close to the optimum High acceptance with users
