ABSTRACT CREATIVE PROJECT: Black Air STUDENT: Thanh VanVo DEGREE: Master of Arts COLLEGE: Fine Arts DATE: May, 2011 PAGES: 35 Our memory informs us who we are and where we have been. It is essentially our guiding light illuminating the past, both good and bad. We rely on our memory to perform simple daily routines of combing our hair, buttoning our shirt, or turning off the lights before leaving the house. Since these routines are utilized repeatedly each day, they become a natural part of our daily life. But as we grow older and time has passed, what happen to those memories that lie dormant for a long time? Can we clearly recall specific details and emotions of personal experiences that have passed over five, ten, or even twenty years ago? It is possible to visually represent personal memories in a manner that convey emotions, time, and place?
