Dungeness Collaborative Stewardship Native Seed Collection & Propagation FY 2007 Accomplishments BACKGROUND: A streamside campground and adjacent wetland near the popular Slab Camp Trailhead in the Dungeness Watershed have been heavily damaged by illegal OHV use. As part of the Dungeness Watershed Collaborative Stewardship project, the road leading past this area will be decommissioned, and vehicular access to the area will be blocked. PROPOSAL: Propagate seed and cuttings collected from local native plants to use in revegetation and restoration of the campground and wetland. FUNDED OUTPUTS: A minimum of 800 seedlings and rooted cuttings will be grown from local native plant materials collections. The contract includes collection (2007), propagation (2007-2008), and delivery to the restoration site (late 2008). Species include woody shrubs, forbs, and wetland emergents.
