Entering Class 2011-12
I.
All students at Ohio Northern University must complete the following:
A. Transition Experience Course (TREX)
1. Waived for transfer students that have completed 1 semester elsewhere
B. Writing Seminar (ENGL 1221/1231)
1. May be waived for transfer students; determined by Dean’s office based on writing
course(s) completed elsewhere
C. Extra-disciplinary Course (sophomore or junior year)
D. Senior Capstone
II. All students in the College of Arts & Sciences must complete the following Distributional
requirements:

Bachelor of Arts

One year competency in foreign language
One additional course in the Humanities outside the major
One additional course in Fine Arts outside the major
One additional course in the Social Sciences outside of the major
Bachelor of Science
1. Three additional courses in (1) the Natural Sciences outside of the major or (2)
Mathematics/Statistics with at least one in each category
Bachelor of Fine Arts
1. One additional course in the Fine Arts outside the major
Bachelor Music
1. All requirements outside of the General Education and Distribution requirements will be listed
as major courses or other required courses.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
1. All requirements outside of the General Education and Distribution requirements will be listed
as major courses or other required courses.
Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science
1. All requirements outside of the General Education and Distribution requirements will be listed
as major courses or other required courses.
