Life Science Angel Network Dr. Milena Adamian, Director, Life Science Angel Network ABSTRACT Life Science Angel Network (LSAN) was built with the premise of creating an ecosystem in the entrepreneurial and investment communities in the life sciences sector in NYC. We achieve our goal by: bridging a gap in the early stage funding in healthcare space; building strong network of entrepreneurs, investors, corporate players , i.e. all parties involved in the process of innovation in life sciences. LSAN philosophy: We follow a traditional model of building innovative and profitable companies, provide them with financial and operational support, sector-specific mentorship and access to a broad network of healthcare investors, key opinion leaders, corporate players and entrepreneurs. LSAN’s distinctive and unique features are: strong domain expertise in healthcare with its multidisciplinary Screening Committee, full-time professional management, access to funding sources (syndication & non-dilutive financing), and alliances with strategic development and exit partners. LSAN is geographically agnostic and invests in promising healthcare start-ups across the USA. LSAN was founded in the fall of 2010 at the NY Academy of Sciences and spun off in an independent organization in the January of 2012.
