This presentation is designed to address supportive ways to promote
independence and success in school and beyond, for families of children who
receive special education services.
Elizabeth Rochin, has been an instructor at San José State University and San Joaquin County Office of
Education and is also the author of the Academic Communication (social cognitive) program in the
Fremont Union High School District. She will guide us as we explore the complex features of Executive
Functioning, helping to establish a broader understanding of its impact on learning, and provide
recommendations on how to support our students as they grow, and become more self-aware, selfsufficient and successful.
