Student Directions on Course Evaluations
Why: For each course you took the University requires that you evaluate the
course and the instructor of that course. These anonymous evaluations are used
for accreditation purposes, improving courses/instruction, and making personnel
decisions. After the grades are turned in, the course evaluations will be compiled
electronically and a summary report will be submitted simultaneously to the
instructor, the Department Chair, and the Dean.
How: The College of Engineering uses the Internet to collect anonymous student
feedback on all courses. This method allows you to thoughtfully complete the
evaluations at a time and place that is convenient for you. You can connect to the
evaluation site from your home or office computer or from computer labs at
Boise State University. You should submit your electronic course evaluation(s) by
December 20 at 8 a.m.
The following instructions will help you navigate to the course evaluation web
page:
A: In your web browser go to the IPT website at http://iptde.boisestate.edu
B: Click on the link titled "Fall 2001 College of Engineering Course Evaluations"
C: Click on the department that offers the course you are evaluating.

D: You will be prompted to enter your user name and password.
Your user name can be 1) your name as it appears in the class list or 2) the first
letter of your first name plus the first 7 characters of your last name. For example,
if your name is Johnathon Drummond but the teacher's role sheet shows your
name as John Drummond, you could use either of the following two user names:
John Drummond or jdrummon.
Your password is your Lotus Notes password (if you have one) or your student
ID number which can be found on your student ID card or registration slip. If
you have misplaced your student ID, you should contact your instructor for
assistance.
E: Fill in your answers (you might want to print out your answers in case of
transmission failure), and then click the Submit button to submit your answers.
You should receive a confirmation message that your evaluation has been
received. If you don't receive a confirmation message, please contact Ron Grames.
(If possible do this before closing the web browser or performing any other steps
at the computer.)
NOTE: If you are evaluating more than one course, complete the evaluation for
the first course, click on the Submit button, then click on the Back button a few
times until you are back at the screen listing all the College of Engineering courses.
Then complete the evaluation for your second course and so on.
