Classification & Compensation Redesign Project – Mini Teams
As indicated in the communication of April 15, supervisors are currently being trained to
review and update (where necessary) the position descriptions of each of their direct reports in
the PantherSoftHR system. The next four (4) months represent a critical timeframe within the
scope of the CCRP where all administrative and staff position descriptions are being reviewed
and finalized for the redesign of FIU’s new classification structure.
In order to complete this task, the Project Core Team has identified certain individuals within
the university community to serve as Subject-Matter Experts on a Job Family Mini Team. The
team will be called upon to assist Compensation during this labor intensive process. A time
commitment commensurate with the number of positions for review will be required from each
member of the mini-teams. Teams will be led by a Compensation professional to assist in
drafting new job specifications for FIU’s new classification structure. Training materials will be
provided with clear expectations concerning the roles and responsibilities of mini team
members. Regular meetings will be required.
Attached below you will find a copy of the job families and the mini teams identified and
assigned to each area. We will be assembling the team members for a general orientation shortly
after the supervisory training sessions are completed. If you have any questions concerning the
