MEMORANDUM Date: May 17, 2013 To: Managers & Supervisors CC: HR Liaisons From: El pagnier K. Hudson, M.S. Assistant Vice President of Human Resources Subject: CCRP Supervisor Training Follow-up As you know, the training for supervisors to update the position descriptions of their direct reports for the Classification & Compensation Redesign Project (CCRP) is well underway. Sessions began on April 22nd and we have received positive feedback. Thank you to all the supervisors who have attended. Participation in this training to update position descriptions is critical to the success of this phase of the project. In an effort to ensure full participation, the sessions have been extended through May 24th. Training sessions focus on two topics: (1) Overview of the Classification & Compensation Redesign Project, and (2) Updating Duties and Responsibilities through the ePRF. If you have not had an opportunity to attend a training session, please be sure to contact your HR Liaison as soon as possible to assist you with identifying a session to attend. Sessions are held in Building W6 on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus (on SW 115th Ave behind CSC). In addition to the training sessions, there will be Open Labs during the weeks of May 20th and May 27th for hands-on assistance by a Compensation professional. No appointment is necessary. Days, hours and locations of Open Labs are: MMC - Mondays & Wednesdays from 9am-11am in the Green Library (GL274) MMC-Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1pm-3pm in the Green Library (GL274) BBC-Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1pm-3pm (Contact HR-BBC at 6-4051) The deadline for supervisors to review and submit the updates is June 30, 2013. This date allows Business Unit Heads sufficient time to review and submit the updated descriptions to Compensation Administration. You are encouraged to have your direct reports participate in the process of revising their position descriptions. Doing so will significantly enhance the accuracy of duties and responsibilities of the position and create buy-in towards the process. Conversations with employees about their position description will assist you as a prelude to the ePerformance Evaluation Process that is set to begin on July 1, 2013. This is a major project for the University and it is essential that all supervisors attend this training. Your participation in this part of the project is critical to successfully creating FIU’s new classification structure. Please take time to visit the CCRP website to remain informed of the project’s status. Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and total cooperation with this project as well as your continued support to help make FIU Worlds Ahead.
