New in Norwell Business
Java Junction
May 2015 marked the grand
opening of Norwell’s very own cafe, Java Junction.
The Junction, opened and operated by the Norwell
Business Department will provide a cozy, comfy place
for students and teachers alike to “GET BACK ON
TRACK.” The cafe will serve a variety snack items as
well as Norwell memorabilia. Eat-in seating and a
relaxing atmosphere will allow for the Norwell population to take a break from the hustle and bustle of
high school life.
BOH 4M or GPP 30 Senior Leadership
Business Department Vision
Statement
Excellence, persistence, and commitment.
The Business Studies & ICT Department at
N.D.S.S. works together as a team to ensure that our students are ready to meet
the challenges that they will face after
graduation. Whether it be the workplace,
university, college or an apprenticeship,
The senior leadership course is a course in applied
leadership techniques. Students will study the characteristics of effective leadership and will apply these
concepts to leadership opportunities in the school and
the community. Students earning the GPP credit will
focus on developing interpersonal and intrapersonal
skills. They will work on goal setting and communication skills. Students earning the BOH 4M (this is not a
traditional business course) credit will focus on critically identifying the principles of effective leadership
and how to utilize these principles in a practical way
in managing successful businesses. Students will analyze the role of a leader in business, with a focus on
decision-making, management of group dynamics,
motivating workers and planning. Students will play a
role in Student Council for the duration of the course.
Note: Students may take both streams of this course
but it is highly recommended that students take GPP
300 before taking BOH 4M0.
we encourage and enable students to pursue their post secondary goals.
