Kavita P. Bhavan, M.D., M.H.S. Kavita P. Bhavan “HIV in India- a Multifaceted Epidemic” Graduate of Bryn Mawr College and then earned Master's degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Obtained my MD degree from Penn State University and then completed training in Internal Medicine at University of Rochester and Ocshner Cynic. Then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Washington University in St. Louis prior to joining the faculty at UTSW in 2009. I am currently the Director of Infectious Diseases/OPAT ambulatory clinics at Parkland and Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship program/Parkland. For last three years I have been involved with non-profit Bright Life Foundation working to build a school in rural South India for street children, orphans and children infected with or affected by the HIV epidemic in India.
