Meeting Minutes
January 16, 2014
Opening:
This meeting of the Technology Team was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, 2014 in Van
Zoeren 247 by co­directors Ashley Blauwkamp and Kate Bauer.
Members Present: Aaron Goodyke, Abby Devries Christian, Ashley Blauwkamp, , Ashley
Vlasak, Brady Van Malsen, Hannah Bauersfeld, Holly Brinker, Jake Verschueren, Kate Bauer,
Rachel Lundstrom, Sam Pederson, Sarah Krzak, Susan Cherup, and Zoe Edwards
Member Absent: Jencen Smith, Sarah Sheridan

A formal agenda had been prepared for this meeting by Ashley and Kate.

Approval of Minutes
The meeting minutes from November 19, 2013 have been uploaded to the Tech Team website.

Meeting Business
● Committee and Partnership Updates
○ Reminder: Use the Google Doc system to keep the team updated on any committee or
partnership news/changes.
○ New Members: Please fill out the “Member Information” Google Docs.
○ Reminder: Connect with Department Chairs to let them know that you will be available
to help again this semester.
○ Rachel will take over for Alex as the new chair for the Special Education Committee.
● New Website!
○ Thank you Aaron and Zoe for putting so much time and effort into creating our
wonderful new website!
○ Check it out at: http://hopeeducationaltechnology.weebly.com
○ If you find any helpful education resources to add to the site, contact Zoe or Aaron.
○ A Tech Team Google calendar will be linked on the website and managed by the
co­directors.
● Team Recruitment
○ Email Susan suggestions for future Tech Team members!
● Chalk and Wire Sessions
○ Sessions are next week on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd from 7:00­8:00 p.m. Please arrive at
6:45.
○ Everyone should sign up to assist one session on the Google Doc
○ Reminder: Tech Team members get free C&W subscriptions/renewals. (Talk to Amy
Scholten)
● Chalk and Wire Addition: NETS*T Portfolio
○ Students in Ed Psych will now create a second portfolio to document their technology
experiences throughout their college careers.
○ Templates have not been created yet, but are coming soon.
○ Students will share links to their portfolio with Tech Team members so we can track
their progression and see how technology is currently being used in education classes.
○ At the end of the semester, the project will be reviewed for official approval.
○ Tech Team members are encouraged to create a NETS*T portfolio of their own to get
familiar with it.
● Calling All Co­Director Candidates
○ If you are a current Junior and are interested in being co­director next year, please send
edtechteam@hope.edu an email by January 31st explaining why you would like to be
considered. Responses do not need to be long, but should be clear and professional.
● Tech Team T­shirts
○ Sarah and Zoe will have designs options at the next meeting
● Student Teaching Portfolio Presentation/Review Session
○ Presentation: Wednesday, January 29 from 5:00­6:30 p.m. in VDW 102
■ Try to make it to the presentation, especially if you will be reviewing.
○ Review: Wednesday, February 26th from 5:00­6:30 p.m.
■ More info to come
● OAISD ED Camp on March 1st
○ Please keep this date in mind, although you can register up until the day of the event.
● MACUL
○ March 13th­15th in Grand Rapids.
○ Kate and Ashley will be presenting on Thursday the 13th.
○ Registration and lunch will be paid for, but you will not get paid to attend.
● Other Announcements:
○ Ashley Vlasak will now be working with Holly on researching assistive technology. If
anyone else is interested in this project, let Holly know.
○ Tip from Rachel: You can share ownership of Weebly sites so more than one person
can make changes.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. The Tech Team’s next general meeting will take place on February
6, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Van Zoeren 247.
