INFORMATION STATEMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in terms of section 33 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Act, No. 56 of 2003 that the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality (“the City”) intends entering into a contract relating to the PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: INVESTIGATION, PRELIMINARY DESIGN, DETAIL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION MONITORING OF THE UPGRADE OF THE EXISTING PHILIPPI COLLECTOR SEWER - PHILIPPI. The contract will impose financial obligations on the Municipality for a period longer than three (3) financial years. Public Comment on the draft contract is herewith sought. The City of Cape Town has on its annual Budget 2015/16 (as well as its multiyear (5) expenditure plan) made provision for this project. The contract value is estimated to be R10 million. In May 2015 the City of Cape Town issued a tender for the provision of professional services: investigation, preliminary design, detail design and construction monitoring of the upgrade of the existing philippi collector sewer. The sewerline extends from Crossroads through Brown`s Farm into the Philippi Schaapkraal farming area. The Service Provider shall be responsible to manage all aspects of the project. This includes: Evaluating the current status of the Philippi Collector Sewer Compiling a detailed technical project specification and tender document in line with the Employer’s approved scope of work. Manage, administer and monitor the construction contract. Complete the project close-out.
