INFORMATION STATEMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in terms of section 33 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Act, No. 56 of 2003 that the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality (“the City”) intends entering into a contract relating to the PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE PLANNING, DESIGN AND SUPERVISION OF CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE ELSIESRIVER INFILL HOUSING PROJECT, COMPRISING OF 1048 RESIDENTIAL SITES. The contract will impose financial obligations on the Municipality for a period longer than three (3) financial years. Public Comment on the draft contract is herewith sought. The City of Cape Town has on its annual Budget 2015/16 (as well as its multiyear (5) expenditure plan) made provision for this project. The contract value is estimated to be R5.1 million. In September 2015 the City of Cape Town issued a tender for the PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE PLANNING, DESIGN AND SUPERVISION OF CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE ELSIESRIVER INFILL HOUSING PROJECT, COMPRISING OF 1048 RESIDENTIAL SITES. The successful Service Provider shall be responsible to manage all aspects of the project. This includes: The submission of a tender from a Lead Consultant (Project Manager) who shall assemble a team with the expertise in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Town Planning, Environmental Assessment, Architecture, Land Surveying, Community Facilitation and Conveyancing, to plan, design and monitor the construction of civil infrastructure for approximately 637 serviced erven, situated on 6 vacant sites in the Elsiesriver area. Particular experience in the delivery of sustainable, quality, high density low-cost housing projects will be essential requirement.
