NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in terms of section 33 of the Local Government:
Municipal Finance Act, No. 56 of 2003 that the City of Cape Town Metropolitan
Municipality (“the City”) intends entering into a contract relating to
PROVISION OF
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN RESPECT OF THE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
OF PHASE 2A INFRASTRUCTURE: BUS DEPOTS.
The contract will impose financial obligations on the Municipality for a period longer than three (3) financial years. Public Comment on the draft contract is herewith sought.
The City of Cape Town has on its annual Budget 2014/15 (as well as its multiyear (5) expenditure plan) made provision for this project. The contract value is estimated to be R80 million.
In August 2014 the City of Cape Town issued a tender for the provision of professional services to facilitate the design and construction of 3 No. bus depots to serve Phase 2A of the integrated rapid transit for the Lansdowne Wetton Corridor.
The Service Provider shall be responsible to manage all aspects of the project.
This includes:
Evaluating viability of available sites earmarked in the I.P.T.N. Report, with the aim of selecting three to service the Lansdowne Wetton Corridor.
Carry out environmental and heritage assessments and all other legal requirements as well as facilitate public participation.
Compiling a detailed design, technical project specification and tender document in line with the Employer’s approved scope of work.
Manage, administer and monitor the construction contract.
Complete the project close-out.
