Wizard of Oz review 4/2/14 Length of production I think the length of the production could have be longer, so they could display a better image of the story for the people buying the tickets especially the older audience. Music used They used lots of songs that I liked. For example - What does the fox say, Harlem shake, Gangnam style and many more popular and up to date songs. These were used in a very clever way to get the idea and mood of the story across. Actors I think the actors were really good because once the lights go back on they get dressed really quick and my favourite actor was the lion. Props The props they used looked real, like the broom stick, oil can the backgrounds the heart, the courage necklace –triple star- and the stick that held the scare crow up. Costumes The costumes they had looked ok but some looked really silly like the elf and the Wizard of Oz costume. Storyline I really like the storyline because of all the action and excitement in this story Age appropriate This play would be for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class. I give this play a 6/10 By Benjamin Wizard of Oz review 4/2/14 The length of production was about an hour and a half, which just right as any longer and the audience (6-12years) would have lost attention. The music they used were popular songs like What Does The Fox Say? Gangnam style and many more. The characters were a girl called Dorothy, a Lion, Tin Man, a Scarecrow, a Kind Witch, a Wizard and a mean witch. The costumes were good. Dorothy wore a skirt with blue stripes and a white shirt. Tin man wore a big grey suit with a cone shaped head. The lion wore a lion costume with sharp claws. The scarecrow wore a scarecrow suit with hay for the hands and a brown hat. The witch wore a dark black hat with dark black clothes. The farmer wore a brown hat with a blue top and yellowish trousers the same with the other farmer. The dancing was the best part of the show. It must have been as it caught my attention. The singing was also a good part of it as it made the production more interactive. The sound effects were really good, they were used all of the time. The play is suitable for any class, I think (1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th) and up you would have good fun watching it. The best thing about the play is that it only cost 1 euro cost to attend. My rating of this play is 10/10. By Ethan Hunt (ET) The Wizard of Oz Review 4-2-14 I went to see the Wizard of Oz on Tuesday 4-2-14 in the Mullingar Arts Centre. It lasted for an hour and a half. The music was up to date. The songs used were Gangnam style, what does the fox say? And lots of other popular up to date pop songs. The actors were good in the roles they played. The actors played lots of different roles. It was suitable for age’s four to seven. The props were not very good because you could clearly see that the dog Toto was fake. The back round was good as well as that they did changed it very quickly and professionally. The costumes were really good and well presented. The makeup used was really good especially on the scarecrow. The Tin Man face was brilliantly painted with silver paint to make tin man appearance. I think the price charged was worth it. I would score the production at six out of ten. By Gianluca. Today at nine thirty we left school to watch a play in the art centre. The play was called the wizard of Oz. There was only four actors but each actor/ actress played two or three people except for the main actress because she was in most of the scenes. They had lots of different costumes. Each actor/actress had to sing at least three songs. The story was about a girl who lived in a farm with lots of animals. But one day there was a storm that brought the girl to another world. Now she has to find a way home and on the way she finds lots of friends and enemies. The girl had a pet dog that she really loved. They didn’t use a real dog in the play. I don’t think it was for our age but it was still a good play. I would give this play 7/10. The length of the production was good. So was the music they used, although I did not like the lyrics they changed and I thought that the actors could not sing very well. The sound effects they used were alright, but not very good. The actors weren’t great and there wasn’t enough of them to cover all of the parts. I thought it was terrible the way a character would just disappear so that another character could come along. The acting wasn’t great. The dancing was absolutely terrible. They were either jumping up and down or falling over. The singing wasn’t great either. The actors didn’t have the best voices for singing. The props were fairly good and the backgrounds were pretty good. The costumes were okay, but not that good. The play wasn’t great and I think it was appropriate for junior infants. I think it was barely worth the euro it cost. The story line wasn’t very good and I would rate it 1/10 By Ruairí Fagan Wizard of Oz review 4/2/14 We went to the Art Centre today. I was sitting at the back. From the back I could see the play really well. The play was really nice. The main person was DOHERDY she was a really good character. There was a lot of music involved. I did not like the One Direction songs but my favourite song was LETS DO THE HARLEM SHAKE AND WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY. The characters were DOHERDY, the LION the SCARE CROWE and a ROBOT. They were all good but the funny one was the SCARE CROWE. There costumes were really good. But I think the age is from junior infants to 2nd class. The age would be from three to nine. The movie was not expensive all of our school paid 1 euro each. The characters are really good singers. The back round was really nice. All of the songs were famous. I really enjoyed it. It was one of the best movies in the ART CENTER. I would give the movie a score which is eight out of ten By Matas N WIZARD OF OZ REVIEW Today I went to the art centre with my class to watch The Wizard of Oz. I liked some of it. My favourite is the middle of it when the lion comes out he said who would like to fight me that was the best thick from the play. There was four or five people in the play. There was some cool songs in it. The funny bit was when the scarecrow came out it was funny when the scarecrow falls a lot of times and the tin man was cool is well I did like the mean witch. The end was good is well. In the play there was the scarecrow, tin man ,lion and Dohdrty. By Michael P WIZARD OF OZ REVIEW LENGTH OF PRODUCTION The Wizard of OZ was a very good production but it was too short. MUSIC USED The music in the production was very suitable.I like most of these songs but the bad thing was that there was four One Direction songs and that is very bad ACTORS/ACTING AND BACKGROUND/PROPS My favourite actor from the play was the scarecrow who was acting excellent. The background was very good. COSTUMES, SOUND EFFECTS AND DANCING I have nothing to say about the costumes. The dancing wasn’t good or bad, I think it was normal dancing. Sound effects were very good. STORY LINE The story wasn’t the same as the storyline in the movie, but if I had to pick which one was better, I would pick the play over the movie OVERALL SCORE AND AGE Even though it was enjoyable and funny and all I think it’s just for senior and junior infants and the overall score is 8 out of 10 An overview of the review: LENGTH: The length of the movie was all right it was about an hour and a half. MUSIC: They played different songs the only song I did not like was ONE DIRECTION. ACTORS: The actors were good I think they learned there lines well. PROPS: The props were wonderful and brightly painted. COSTUMES: The costumes were lovely and well made. DANCING/SINGING: The dancing and singing was great they have lovely voices. OVERALLSCORE: 7/1 0 By Samuel O WIZARD OF OZ REVIEW 7/2/2014 MUSIC USED The music that was used in the play ‘Wizard of Oz’ were songs from popular singers or bands. The songs suited the action that they were in. However in the play the actors had to sing a song that was made up by them. Without the songs the play would be less interesting because there would be only talking. ACTORS/ACTING The actors had one, two or even three characters to play. Ever actor had their own roll to play. For example one woman had four characters to play. The actors acting was very good. It was as if they were the person they were acting. The actors were acting like professional actors from Hollywood. COSTUMES The costumes they were wearing suited there character. There were lots of costumes like a witch, a lion and even a scarecrow! The costumes were colourful. They were good for dancing and fast moving. The story took place long time ago and the costumes suited that. Ago Appropriate The play was good but it would really suit better for children under six years old. People over 20 years old would not like it. It is good fun for kids because there is songs, dancing and talking. It is funny in some parts of the story. Overall Rating The overall score I will give is 9/10. The character I liked was the scarecrow. I did not give the play 10/10 because I am 12 years old so it did not interest me a lot. BY SEBASTIAN STROMIDLO. WIZARD OF O2 REVIEW Length of Production: The show was very long and good. I enjoyed the show toughly. It was good that the actors were changing to other characters in such a short space of time. MUSIC USED / SOUND EFFECT The music they used were very fantastic. My favourite song was gangam styal and they made the songs in their own way. Wizard of Oz review Length of production I think the length of production could have be longer so they could catch a better image of the story for the people buying the tickets. Music used They used lots of modern music which held the interest of all of the children. I liked songs like, What the fox says, Harlem shake and Gangnam style. Actors I think the actors were really good because once the lights go back on they get dressed quickly and my favourite actor was the lion. Props The props they used looked real the oil can, the back rounds, the broomstick, the stick holding the scarecrow and the medals Costumes The costumes they had looked ok but some looked really silly like the elf and the wizard of oz costume Storyline I really like the storyline because of all the action and excitement in this story Age appropriate This play would be for 10- children Score 6/10 By Benjamin K Wizard of Oz review Acting The acting was really good because he was doing all kind of stuff like he was whistling and he was funny and that he is good at acting and he is very good at making noises and stuff Sound effect The sound effects were alright there was no music too but sound effects are just as good as music and there was loads of flashing lights asswell Costume The costume was really goodlike painted his face white aswell he was wearing these brown and silver clothes his trousers were silver and his jumper was brown and his shoes were brown I would probably give the costume 8 out of 10 Tricks He did awesome tricks I would say he did seven or eight tricks of his own It was really good because the tricks he did would be about 10 out of10 Age He was around in his 40s or early 50s Score I would give the score 6/10
