Cut Edge Corrosion occurs at the cut edges and overlapped joints on roof cladding sheets.
Where the cut edges of coated metal cladding are exposed to the elements for prolonged
periods of time, de-lamination may occur in the form of peel back of the factory coating. The
unprotected metal substrate then becomes exposed to rusting and corrosion.
If the Cut Edge Corrosion is not addressed quickly it will damage the metal sheeting and
adversely affect the roof. Cut Edge Corrosion is a progressive problem and if neglected it can
develop away from the cut edge, and destroy the weather seal at joint overlaps and the
gutter overhang at eaves.
The general condition of the roof will deteriorate rapidly and this will have a negative impact

from abrasion, scuffing and other damage during transportation and installation.

Overlay systems such as Polyroof offer an alternative to the complete
