Inspiration Elementary School serves 500 PK-5th grade students of diverse racial/ethnic,

the schoolwide Title I program is supporting family involvement in the support of student
learning. Research has shown that family involvement in a student’s academic life is
correlated with student success.
Parents/guardians are invited to participate in the APS-wide Title I Parent Advisory
Committee as a representative of Inspiration Elementary. Six family involvement events
are provided by 3 Title I teachers throughout the school year. Parent surveys are
distributed at the EOY. Results from the 2011-12 EOY Parent Survey indicated parent
needs for the 2012-2013 year.

Family Involvement
Inspiration Elementary has made strides in parent outreach, but exhibits a need for
continued focus in this area. In school year 2011-2012, fewer than 50% of parents
participated in family events. Additionally, the 2011-12 end-of-year parent surveys
indicated that parents have interest in programming about reading with their children,
