ES 1001 Final Essay Exam -- students domonstrate knowledge of the key components (environmental science,
economic, political and social) of a variety of environmental problems as well as how their integration complicates
major environmental problems
DIR-2
ES 2803 Final Essay Exam -- students will be expected to explain the key components of major global
environmental problems, and their integration
DIR-3
ES 3500 Final Essay Exam -- students will be expected to critically examine a wide variety of environmental
problems and suggest the best policy approaches for their solution given their complex interdisciplinary nature
DIR-4
ES 3500 Group Project -- students will critically examine the management of a resource of their choice from a
conventional and ecological economic approach, report to the class which method was more sustainable and
provide data to back up their claims
DIR-5
ES 5001 Group Project -- students will develop their own sustainable development project, search for a potential
funder and write a proposal according to the funders guidelines -- students will also pitch their projects to classmates
in the form of an oral presentation
DIR-6
ES 5050 Final Report -- students will describe their internship experience, the project they worked on and their
particular role, how much they feel they learned from it and how their ES coursework related to it

ES Student Survey -- a survey instrument (ie., Ecological Footprint) will be developed and used to determine if
students are living more sustainable lives as ES seniors than they were as ES freshman
