Organisation: Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Position Title: Program Manager (as consultant) Location: Mexico City Salary Package: Competitive Closing Date: Rolling recruitment. The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is looking to hire a Program Manager (PM) for a one-year term consultancy contract, with the possibility of a one-year extension, to support the Institute´s work in Mexico. The PM will be based in Mexico City. The PM will report directly to the Country Representative and will be responsible for managing multiple workstreams. Initially, the PM will lead work related to urban green growth, including mobility and air quality. In addition, the Program Manager will conduct work aimed at improving the innovation ecosystem for climate technologies in the country. Additional projects in green growth policies may be launched in the future. In addition to project-specific work, the PM will support the Country Representative in the execution of GGGI’s strategy for Mexico, including the identification and launch of new initiatives in other sectors, building and strengthening GGGI’s relationship with key government and non-government partners and actors, and seeking opportunities to mobilize new resources. Key responsibilities of the PM include: Strengthening and maintaining GGGI´s relationship with key stakeholders in the country, including government officials in relevant sectors, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, think-tanks and other academic institutions, and the private sector Defining the objectives and scope of work in the areas of collaboration with the government of Mexico and other key stakeholders Conducting detailed analyses leading to the evaluation and design of policies that advance green growth concepts in the country, with a particular emphasis on urban issues and energy Managing a team of staff professionals and external consultants, by providing guidance and review of technical content Facilitating the exchange of knowledge, including formal training, among national stakeholders and across countries (south-south collaboration) All applicants must hold exemplary and relevant academic credentials as well as professional experience. The PM will generally have a post-graduate degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Key experience and capabilities will include: Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, alongside strong synthesis and strategic thinking skills Experience in disciplines or knowledge in urban issues, climate technologies and/or areas relevant for green growth, such as natural resources management, energy, industry, transport, waste management, the built environment or urban development Project delivery experience, including managing the delivery of results on time and on budget, and managing high-performance teams Outstanding stakeholder engagement, client relationship, and consensus building skills Work experience in Mexico with a highly regarded private sector company (consulting or industry), international organization, government or not-for-profit organisation.
