The Need for Collaboration on Thematic Areas in Green Industrialization With the start of the Greening Uganda’s Urbanization and Industrialization Project, it was realized that the scope covered by this project regarding Green Industrialization was new to Uganda. Along the way, topics have come up that have required peer consultations with other GGGI country programs ranging from: Methodology used to deliver some outcomes Case studies for peer review Data sources to be used to deliver outcomes Expertise to support different project activities GGGI developed tools used in delivering informed outcomes etc After consultations with different representatives from other GGGI country programs, it was determined that as far as Industrialization is concerned, Uganda’s scope is wider than what other country programs have done to-date. They have mainly focused on themes like Energy Efficiency, retrofitting industrial buildings to maximize energy efficiency or work in specific sectors like Garment making or cement. It is therefore imperative that a community of practitioners is formed where collaboration can be improved in areas like developing of qualitative and quantitative tools by GGGI teams for enhancing the work in the Green Industrial Thematic space, popularizing work done by different country programs as well as awareness building across the organization on different projects. This group can also help to build linkages with other organizations outside GGGI involved in the subject of Green Industrialization not forgetting sharing of ideas and bridging skill gaps. 1
