Physical Action: jump, shout, search, carry, run… Mental Action: worry, think, believe, imagine… Linking Verbs Linking verbs link two parts of a sentence. They link the subject with a predicate nominative or a prepositional phrase. A linking verb is like an equal’s sign. The star’s name is Ruby. The watermelon looks ripe. She is in the classroom name = Ruby watermelon = ripe she = in the classroom
